What You’ll Learn:

What actually happens when you go into labour? Understanding this is the foundation you need to be able to truly support your body. What are contractions, what’s your body doing? What hormones are important for birth? What positions can support labour? What can help or hinder the physiological process of birth?

What you think and believe about birth MATTERS. We’ll explore how to reduce any worries, fears or uncertainty about birth and replace those feelings with confidence and calm.

Are you worried about not being able to cope with the intensity or pain of birth? We cover all of your options (medical & non-medical), you’ll learn practical hypnobirthing techniques, and by the end you’ll feel confident to make choices that feel right for you.

We cover things like: signs of labour starting, the different stages of labour, what to expect, when to call the midwife, optimal birth positions, options you may be faced with, and ways to reduce tearing.

A confident and well-prepared birth partner can make all the difference. You’ll feel totally supported by them and they’ll feel confident to advocate for what you both want.

You’ll learn the roles of midwives and doctors, how to work WITH them to have a satisfying birth experience, and how hospital policies and guidelines work – This is mega important stuff for you to know! Everything I teach you is based on my life experience working as a midwife, so I truly understand the ins & outs of how the maternity system works.

You’ll learn what your options are and how to make your birth environment the most optimal space for you to birth your baby, whether that’s at home, a birth centre or the obstetric ward. You’ll learn what is available in each setting and how to make a choice that feels right for you.

You’ll be aware of what all of your options are, what questions to ask, and how to make informed decisions that feel right for you and your family. You’ll also learn how to feel confident communicating those decisions to your care team and how to work as a team.

e.g inductions, forceps, ventouse, c-section – we cover them all. You’ll understand when different interventions may be offered and how to stay in control of your experience.

I’ll give advice on building your birth plan and help to build your confidence to navigate whatever path your birth may take.

Frequently Asked Questions

As soon as you sign up for the course you have access for 1 year, and you can dip in and out as you like. Some people like to start early in pregnancy to have all the information for their whole pregnancy, but signing up even at 40 weeks, and binge watching it all, will 100% still be beneficial!

You can access via your laptop/phone/tablet – as long as you have internet connection!

Drawing on my time working as a midwife and more than 10+ years of supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, I’ve gained a deep understanding of what really matters, and have created this course to reflect that. Anyone can create an online antenatal course or call themselves a ‘birth expert’, there’s no regulation. So making sure you’re choosing a trusted, reputable course is so important.

Having supported women both within the NHS maternity system AND through my work as a private antenatal educator, I have a unique perspective on how parents can successfully navigate the current maternity system and advocate for what YOU want. This course doesn’t sugar coat things. It’s honest, realistic and 100% the information you need.

The course contains x43 bite sized-videos. You can either binge them all in one go which would take around 6hrs, or dip in and out and watch them over time. You can go back and re-watch certain topics whenever you want to.

Yes – I highly recommend them to join the course. Your birth partner is the one person who will be with you throughout your pregnancy and birth, so it’s important you feel prepared, supported and are a team. Birth partners play a vital role during labour, and being part of the course will help them feel confident, informed, and ready to support and advocate for you.

Yes, definitely! This course is for everyone. When you’re classed as ‘high risk’, you may face more challenging decisions, be told ‘you’re not allowed’ or be offered more interventions. So it’s even more important you understand your options clearly, know the right questions to ask, and can make choices that feel right for you and your baby – this is exactly what the course will help you do.

Yes, although some statistics mentioned are UK based, the course content can be applied to any birth setting and maternity system. The course will give you the tools and confidence to know what questions to ask your healthcare providers so you can get the best care possible, wherever in the world you’re having your baby.
