Private Antenatal Hypnobirthing Courses

The confidence, clarity, and reassurance every expectant mum deserves, with support tailored to your pregnancy every step of the way.

This course is for you if:

  • You’re a first-time-mum feeling uncertain or nervous about what to expect. You don’t know what you don’t know when it comes to birth, but you do know that you want to make choices that feel right for you and your baby.
  • You had a rough experience last time and know you want MORE from this birth experience. You didn’t feel heard, it was like ‘things just happened’ and you want to learn how to feel more in control this time.
  • You’re feeling overwhelmed by the amount of advice online. Every TikTok video or ‘Mums net’ advice says something different and you just want clear, trustworthy information that actually applies to YOUR pregnancy.
  • You hoped your midwife appointments would give you more clarity, but they’re so quick and focused on checks that you often leave with more questions than answers.
  • You find yourself up at night worrying about the ‘what ifs’ or unsure about something you’re experiencing. You find yourself spiralling down a google rabbit hole and diagnosing yourself with some superrrr rare condition (yep, I’ve done this too!)

Just imagine..

Just imagine going into your birth feeling calm, clear, and genuinely confident in your choices and in your ability to birth your baby. Imagine feeling totally prepared to navigate whatever path your pregnancy and birth may take, with the tools to make decisions that feel right for you, and the knowledge to give yourself the best possible chance of a satisfying and empowering birth experience.

Topics we will cover:

What actually happens when you go into labour? Understanding this is the foundation you need to be able to truly support your body. What are contractions, what’s your body doing? What hormones are important for birth? What positions can support labour? What can help or hinder the physiological process of birth?

What you think and believe about birth MATTERS. We’ll explore how to reduce any worries, fears or uncertainty about birth and replace those feelings with confidence and calm.

Are you worried about not being able to cope with the intensity or pain of birth? We cover all of your options (medical & non-medical), you’ll learn practical hypnobirthing techniques, and by the end you’ll feel confident to make choices that feel right for you.

We cover things like: signs of labour starting, the different stages of labour, what to expect, when to call the midwife, optimal birth positions, options you may be faced with, and ways to reduce tearing.

A confident and well-prepared birth partner can make all the difference. You’ll feel totally supported by them and they’ll feel confident to advocate for what you both want.

You’ll learn the roles of midwives and doctors, how to work WITH them to have a satisfying birth experience, and how hospital policies and guidelines work – This is mega important stuff for you to know! Everything I teach you is based on my life experience working as a midwife, so I truly understand the ins & outs of how the maternity system works.

You’ll learn what your options are and how to make your birth environment the most optimal space for you to birth your baby, whether that’s at home, a birth centre or the obstetric ward. You’ll learn what is available in each setting and how to make a choice that feels right for you.

You’ll be aware of what all of your options are, what questions to ask, and how to make informed decisions that feel right for you and your family. You’ll also learn how to feel confident communicating those decisions to your care team and how to work as a team.

e.g inductions, forceps, ventouse, c-section – we cover them all. You’ll understand when different interventions may be offered and how to stay in control of your experience.

I’ll given you individualised advice on building your birth plan and help to build your confidence to navigate whatever path your birth may take.

Book a Course

Why start now?

I know you might be thinking ‘I’ll wait until I’m on maternity leave’ or I’ll book the course tomorrow. Then tomorrow becomes a week and suddenly months have gone by and before you know it your due date is around the corner.

Birth isn’t just about one day. It has a ripple effect on your journey into motherhood. It impacts your whole life. You’ll never forget the day you gave birth to your baby – ask any mother, she will be able to tell you how she FELT and in my opinion this is the most important thing. Whether you have a vaginal, assisted or c-section birth, you will have still given birth, but how you FEEL about the experience is what matters most. Please don’t leave that feeling to chance – there’s so much you can do, I’d love to show you how.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, absolutely! Research shows it can help make labour shorter and more comfortable. It’s also been linked to fewer medical interventions (like forceps, ventouse & c-sections), and women report less desire for pain relief. Hypnobirthing is becoming a popular choice for mums wanting to feel empowered, in control, and truly prepared for whatever path their pregnancy and birth may take.

Here’s the thing: when we’re scared or tense, our bodies actually make labour harder and more painful. Hypnobirthing teaches you how to relax deeply and stay calm, which helps your body (the muscles and hormones) do its job better. When you’re relaxed, your uterus contracts more easily, so things can progress more smoothly (and sometimes quicker too!).

Hypnobirthing is not just a trend. More and more midwives and NHS Trusts are backing it because they’ve seen the positive difference it can make.

NCT is one of the more traditional choices for antenatal education—it’s been around for decades and is still a popular choice for many parents. NCT classes typically follow a standard format, covering topics like the stages of labour, common birth scenarios, and basic newborn care (like nappy changing and feeding). Some parents choose to do my course instead of NCT, whereas others choose to do both.

While useful for general information, NCT doesn’t cover the practical Hypnobirthing techniques I teach – like tools to support your mindset, how to work with your body and ways to stay calm and in control during labour. My courses are designed to go deeper, helping you to understand your options, navigate the maternity system, build your confidence, and feel genuinely prepared for all the twists and turns birth can bring.

Most people choose to start their course between 20 – 34 weeks, to give enough time to soak up all the information and practise the hypnobirthing tools and techniques. However, there’s really no ‘set’ time to start a course – it’s totally up to you! Some like to have all the information early on, whereas others prefer to do a course closer to the birth so it’s fresh in their mind!

Yes – I highly recommend them to join the course. Your birth partner is the one person who will be with you throughout your pregnancy and birth, so it’s important you feel prepared, supported and are a team. Birth partners play a vital role during labour, and being part of the course will help them feel confident, informed, and ready to support and advocate for you.

Yes! A common misconception is that a hypnobirthing course is just for people planning a homebirth or a ‘drug free’ birth. The tools and techniques you will learn will be so helpful for navigating all the possible twists and turns your pregnancy may take, with confidence. When you’re classed as ‘high risk’, you may face more challenging decisions or be offered more interventions. The course can help you understand your options clearly, know the right questions to ask, and help you to make choices that feel right for you and your baby.

Yes! I have taught birth teams all over the world. The course content can be applied to any birth setting and maternity system. The course will give you the tools and confidence to know what questions to ask your healthcare providers so you can get the best care possible.
